Marie is much loved and will always be remembered by all who knew her.

Mum had been in declining health for some years and, finally, she is at rest. I was with her at the end and can attest that she was in no pain and just drifted away in her sleep. I am grateful that she did not suffer, and that I got to be with her.

One common thread from those that came into contact with Mum was that she was a true character and that her rebellious spirit and determination to be in charge remained with her though it all. She was always determined to live life on her terms. Mum was an indomitable character with a wicked sense of humour who left an impression on everyone who knew her, and I will miss her terribly.

Whatever happens on the other side of death, I like to think that Dad and Deborah were there waiting for Mum with open arms and to show her the ropes. That she’s free from pain and anguish and dancing a quickstep.
